Candy Molds - Keeping a German Pennsylvania Tradition Alive

Join Suzanne Wainwright-Evans of Slatington, PA to learn about the Pennsylvania German tradition and art of candy-making.  Clear toy candies, shaped into the likeness of everyday items, such as boots, people, dogs, vehicles and even dishes, were traditionally given to children during the holidays as toys before becoming sweet treats!  German immigrants are thought to have brought clear toy candy to America.

Suzanne Wainwright-Evans will discuss the candy's rich history in the Philadelphia area and the traditional recipes that were used to make it.
