CPSM Exam Study Group
(Session 3 of 7)


SMPS San Diego has formed a study group for members serious about sitting for the Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) exam. The group will be meeting throughout the next few months to prepare for the exam. Sessions will include instruction and discussion on the six Domains of Practice for Professional Services Marking, which are the body of knowledge and skills most critical to competency in our work.

The third session will take place on the evening of Monday, May 2, at Xpera's new office and will cover Domain 3: Client and Professional Development. Recommended reading to prepare for the class (not required) includes:

  • CPSM Study Guide: Key Terms & Concepts for Domain 3
  • Marketing Handbook for the Design & Construction Professional (Part 3)
  • The Architecture of Value: Building Your Professional Practice (Chapter 13-15)
  • Wired to Clients - Get Inside Your Customers' Minds for Success in Business Development (Chapters 1-2)
  • Creating Rainmakers: The Manager's Guide to Training PRofessionals to Attract New Clients
  • Rainmaking: Attract New Clients No Matter What Your Field

These formal study sessions are open to members and non-members interested in sitting for the exam, CPSMs looking for continuing education credit (1.5 CEUs, Domain 2) and anyone else interesed in furthering their knowledge of AEC marketing and business development.

The cost for the seven-part series is $195 for members or $260 for non-members. For those who wish to pay per class, the fee is $45.
