The voice of NAMI-NYS’s advocates is much needed during the critical 2022 legislative session as decisions made during the next few months with will impact the direction of key mental health initiatives for years to come.
We need to you to share your story to help shape our future by explaining to our leaders the importance of the 2022 NAMI-NYS Action Agenda and why we need to move forwards, not backwards in terms of the availability of mental health services and why we need to make crucial criminal justice reforms and ensure that a mental health crisis is met with a mental health response by having a fully funded 9-8-8 and criisis response system..
Register today for NAMI-NYS’s Advocacy Week taking place from mid-January through mid-March. We are in the process of scheduling meeting with NYS legislators and we will be sending registrants updates about times and dates of meetings over the coming weeks. Registrants will also receive a Zoom link to attend our Advocacy Kick-Off event on January 19th at 7pm.

NAMI-NYS wants to ensure our members feel comfortable sharing their stories with legislators. Along with the kick-off event on January 19th, we will also be holding regional town hall sessions early in 2022 to detail local leaders’ records on NAMI-NYS’s issues, help people tell their stories and answer questions people may have.
