Featured Speakers

For the 42nd Annual Meeting, we will be featuring two of our Young Friends Committee Members who are doing great work with 18th century research and interpretation.

Our first speaker will be Mike Adams, Education Coordinator for Historic Philadelphia, Inc. As the Education Coordinator, Mike's work involves working with schools to create field trips for students that takes them out of the traditional four wall learning environment and immerses them into a hands on learning experience.  Mike will be discussing how he creates programs that that are not only fun but fit into the Common Core standards as well as the difficulties of teaching history to today's youth.

Our second speaker will be Molly Yun.  Molly is the personal assistant to Chef Walter Staib and Public Relations Director for City Tavern. Through her extensive work on researching and writing the cookbook A Sweet Taste of History and her work on the Emmy Award winning A Taste of History TV show seen nationwide on PBS and RLTV. Molly will be discussing the role of women in Revolutionary America and how they used wit, courage and sometimes dessert to lead our nation.
