Presented by Abby Cooper of Marc Gold & Associates, learn how descriptive writing can help you support an individual with developmental disabilities to be more successful in their job search.
What is Descriptive Writing?
Descriptive Writing is a method of writing that paints a detailed picture of a person, place or thing.
Why is Descriptive Writing important?
Professionals in the disability world often become accustomed to writing in an impersonal, clinical way about the individuals they support. Descriptive writing is a tool to help describe an individual with a disability in a person-centered, positive manner. Taking a more positive approach can then open the door to different ideas and the exploration of new employment possibilities.
Who will benefit from this training?
This training is for professionals who are responsible for writing assessment reports, discovery profiles etc. to support the employment goals of an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
