Baby Lock Ambassador Karen Parker will be coming to Quilt Lizzy!

Spend the first day making Karen Parker's Sassy Chef's Apron! This cute apron will show you the different stitches that can be used on your serger. Learn to make ruffled edges, add pockets and serge straps!

On day two make the Serger Mesh Tote by Joan Friedrich! This tote teaches decorative stitching, serging with verigated thread and with mesh! This technique class is guarenteed to help anyone to better understand their serger!

If you've been looking at purchasing a serger, this event may also be helpful to you. Quilt Lizzy can provide you with a Triumph or Ovation machine for the two days of class. See if the serger is a good fit for you while getting top of the line training and education on the machine! Please call with any questions!

Educator: Karen Parker

Sharing the joy for creating all things related to fiber and textiles is Karen's passion in life. Needle and

thread were first placed in her eager hands at the age of six. Garment construction was her activity of

choice throughout her teen years. She continued her education in this direction and earned a BS in

Clothing and Textiles from East Carolina University. Motherhood never slowed her desire to learn

more and hone her skills. During this period, she became a self taught spinner and weaver leading to

commissions for liturgical items for local churches.

When machine embroidery hit the home market, Karen dove in head first! With no prior computer

skills, she learned digitizing and never looked back. Digitizing and creating her own patterns for

garments, accessories and home décor continue to keep her busy and very happy. With these additional

skills, she began to teach classes in beginner to advanced embroidery, digitizing and garment

construction in her home studio. She has worked and taught in fabric shops and provided workshops

for quilt guilds.

In 2017, she became co-founder/owner of Threadhead and Company, LLC. Her company offers

original patterns in embroidery, quilting, home décor and garments for the home sewist. In the same

year, Karen was named Digitizer of the Year, Grand Prize Winner for John Deer's Adorable Ideas

Digitizer's Dream Contest. Karen will continue to design and teach through her ambassadorship with

Baby Lock.
