Hello Friends,
We are looking forward to hearing Courtney Davis, a Foster Family Recruiter, for the Department of Children and Families. She has worked for DCF for 7 years and currently oversees the southern region of Massachusetts.
Courtney graduated in 2010 from Johnson and Wales University and is currently enrolled at Bridgewater State University studying for her Master’s Degree in Social Work. Prior to DCF, she worked for the MA Probation Department as well as the MA Department of Corrections as a substance abuse counselor. Courtney has worn many hats with a wide variety of experiences and working for DCF is where she believes she is most needed and she is the most passionate about.
As you know, foster parents give children a safe, nurturing and stable place for healing and an extended family to lean on until they can return to their own home. It truly takes a village and welcoming hearts to support children in foster care. We hope you'll join us to learn more about this important program.
In place of a raffle, we are asking for donations for children in foster care. Two 7th grade girls from Cape Cod Academy are working with Cape Cod Child and Family Services creating "comfort bags" for children who are unexpectedly placed in foster care. Please consider donating an item from this list:
Toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc)
Blankets
New Stuffed Animals
Fidget Toys (spinners, stress balls, silly putty, etc.)
Reusable Tote Bags
Start thinking about a Happy Buck or two! This is a lively way for everybody to share a brief shout-out about a business announcement, compliment someone, give info about a nonprofit or event, or anything that you'd like the group to know. Each "item" is $1 which supports CCWA.
Our venue for the evening is The Knack restaurant in Hyannis. They have graciously provided their back room for our meeting. Dinner will be a buffet of burgers, chicken, vegan options, french fries, onion rings and beverages.
*Beer, wine and milkshakes will be available for purchase.
Check-in begins at 5:30 pm and the program at 6:00 pm.
