Workshops & Descriptions

Every registrant has a choice of one 1:15-2:15 workshop and one 2:30-3:30 workshop. You'll want to review the choices before completing your registration, as you will make your choices during the registration process. 

1:15 - 2:15 Workshops

1.) Behaviors & Communication Strategies | Presenter: Erica Salamida
This session will help attendees develop a better understanding of why behaviors happen and how to improve communication techniques

2.) Sexuality & Dementia | Presenter: Barbara Speedling
This session provides a shared human and clinical perspective on how to approch matters of               sexuality for those with dementia and other special needs. 

2:30 - 3:30 Workshops

3.) Legal & Financial Planning | Presenter: Michael Dezik, Esq.
This session offers a general overview of the Medicaid asset and income rules, general concepts involved with arranging long term care, and an overview of the various ways advocates can be empowered to protect the interests of friends and/or loved ones. 

4.) Discover the Power of Meaningful Activity | Presenter: Barbara Speedling
This interactive program is designed to provide caregivers with ideas and strategies for addressing some of the key challenges associated with caring for someone with a diagnosis of dementia.
