You are invited to attend the 4th Annual Multi-State Fleet Response Working Group (FRWG) Meeting at PECO Headquarters in Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 8:30am to 3:00pm ET.  

About the Meeting

This regional integrated planning meeting is being jointly conducted by the FRWG Leadership and its private and public sector stakeholders across the United States in the electric sector along with other private sector companies from the food, fuel, finance, retail, telecommunications, transportation, chemical, medical and other lifeline sectors.

Additionally, this meeting is being supported by the multiple government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels, along with several national trade associations and coordinating bodies.

Purpose: 

This meeting will be the annual convening of the Multi-State Fleet Response Working Group (FRWG), a national multi-sector working group supported by private and public sector operations professionals.

This year's meeting will focus on four key topic areas: 

  • Regional Disaster Management & Coordination with States
  • Public/Private Sector Mutual Assistance
  • Joint Operational Information Sharing
  • Joint Education & Exercises

Description:  This facilitated panel of State Directors of Emergency Management will provide an executive level discussion on public/private coordination. Topics will include: processes used to prepare & communicate internally as well as externally with other states & organizations for multi-state disaster; identify opportunities for collaboration, information sharing, and education for private sector mutual assistance support; provide recommendations to the private sector for improvements.

Overview: This keynote will provide an overview of NOAA’s major initiatives, issues and investments being made in their Weather Ready Nation initiative.

NOAA’s National Weather Service is transforming its operations to help America respond. Offices now provide forecast information in a way that better supports emergency managers, first responders, government officials, businesses and the public make fast, smart decisions to save lives and property and enhance livelihoods. NOAA’s Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research and National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service are moving new science and technology into National Weather Service operations that will improve forecasts and ultimately increase weather-readiness.

Description:  This regional panel session will provide a discussion on mutual assistance support efforts underway at the local, regional and/or national levels in the public and private sectors. Topics to be discussed will include: existing organizations/initiatives/challenges; updates on expediting through toll stations; efforts to address the legal operating authority issues impacting the private sector; new tools being developed to support mutual assistance.

Description: This regional panel session will look at current public and private education and exercise initiatives and discuss ways to leverage/coordinate/integrate these activities in order to improve cross-discipline and cross sector education, relationship development and operational coordination. Topics will include: 2016 FEMA cross sector exercise; local/regional education initiatives; current national exercises that can be leveraged (GridEx, EEI/NRE); local/state exercises, recommendations for 2016.
