You only get one shot at branding your firm (at least that was our thinking). Our presentation will outline why we left our previous firm of over 10 years, the process and pitfalls of how we started out on our own, and how we crafted our clientele and portfolio in order to achieve a whitespace in a market saturated by architects…all the while staying true to ourselves and our passion for design greatness. The culmination of these efforts is represented in the new Jackson Dinsdale Art Center at Hastings College, which will be one of the projects highlighted in our presentation.
2:00 – 3:00 pm | "Identity Architecture"
SPEAKER: James Poulson, AIA | Miller & Associates
Sports and Entertainment facilities are important cultural icons for communities. In addition to being venues for cultural events, they also help to form the basis of perceptions and memories of a particular place and event. I have had the opportunity to help design buildings that communicate particular aspects of the team, the owners, the community and even the region which they serve. I will share with you some thoughts on how and why I think it is important for buildings to speak of where they are.
