For nearly 60 years, the American Institute of Architects, Nebraska Chapter (AIA NE) has celebrated outstanding architecture through the Excellence in Design program. The AIA Nebraska continues this tradition by inviting you to submit your firm’s recent work for the 2015 program.
Step 1 – Review Eligibility Criteria
Entries must have been designed by members or by a member of the project team who is a licensed AIA Nebraska member. Built projects must have been completed after January 1, 2008 for eligibility. Unbuilt projects must have been commissioned by January 1, 2008 for eligibility. Entries may include groups of buildings, individual buildings, renovations, or additions to existing buildings or building interiors. Persons submitting the entry must have designed the entry or been a member of the project team. Entry may be in any geographical location. Previous project winners, excluding Unbuilt and Details categories of the AIA Nebraska Design program will not be eligible. Projects receiving Citation or Honorable Mentions are not eligible for submission in the same winning category.
Step 2 – Registration | Payment
The registration fee is $150 per entry. After completing the on-line registration form at www.aiane.org and payment has been received via PayPal or check, on Monday, May 18, you will receive templates for your submissions and information to upload your files to the AIA Nebraska FTP site via e-mail. No extensions or refunds will be granted.
Step 3 – Review Categories and Deadlines
Determine the Category for which you want to submit your projects. Carefully review the description of each category.
Excellence in Architecture: Encourage and recognize excellence in new buildings, restoration, and adaptive reuse.
Excellence in Interior Architecture: Encourage and recognize excellence in interior architecture.
Excellence in Unbuilt Design: Architectural design work that, to date remains unbuilt. Unbuilt architectural designs of any project type are eligible, including purely theoretical projects and unbuilt client-sponsored projects, such as buildings, interiors, transportation infrastructure, and monuments.
Excellence in Architectural Detail: Encourage and recognize architectural detail or design concept in use of a particular material, detail or building technology, detail may stand alone or reinforce an overall building concept in an exceptional manner.
