Climate Change Challenges: 
Educators Exploring the Opportunities 

Learning for a Sustainable Future presents this 2-part focused PD experience, where we will facilitate collaborative knowledge-building and help educators to pursue the knowledge and skills that will position them to be effective facilitators of climate change learning. 

Part 1 of the workshop will be a full-day in-person workshop. Part 2 (date TBD) will be a 90-minute online follow up session.

Throughout the Part 1 workshop, we will walk the talk and model inquiry methodology.

Who should attend?

 Grade 7 - 12 Educators of all subjects, School Administrators and SystemLeaders who wish to:

  • Explore how to address the complexityof climate change learning through a professional inquiry approach
  • Explore how to support climate change action projects that will bring inquiry and project-based learning to their students

Focus:

  • Receive a copy of LSF's Connecting the Dots and Climate Change Resources for Teachers as well as Green Teacher's Teaching Teens About Climate Change.
  • Teaching & learning about climate change—one of the greatest challenges facing humankind—is complex. Transformative learning strategies can support you.
  • This workshop provides hands-on instructional strategies for integrating climate change into your teaching practice
  • We follow a professional inquiry model. You will bring your experiences, pose questions, be provoked by relevant insights, & collaboratively navigate curriculum, assessment, & the use of inquiry learning
