to celebrate the progress being made in implementing
Kenosha's Downtown Strategic Development Plan.
An update on recent accomplishments and current developments will be presented by Downtown Kenosha Inc. followed by remarks from:
Featured Speaker - Scott Freres PRINCIPAL, RLA, ASLA
Scott is co-founder and principal of The Lakota Group. The Lakota Group is the economic development consultant that developed the Downtown Strategic Development Plan adopted by the City of Kenosha Common Council in October 2012.
Scott specializes in urban design, land planning, landscape architecture and wayfinding/signage design. His work has involved a wide range of project types, including new towns, new and old neighborhoods, commercial districts, downtowns, main streets, road corridors, transit-oriented and mixed-use developments, office and industrial parks, waterfronts, greenways/trails, parks and plazas.
Scott has been a speaker and panelist at planning and design conferences and workshops throughout the country. He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, American Planning Association and Urban Land Institute.
He has a Bachelors of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
