Insurance coverage attorneys are often retained to provide coverage advice both during claim processing, but also after suit was filed and after judgment. There are many ethical questions that can arise. This webinar will explore ethical issues particular to insurance counsel, including the interaction with ongoing litigation against the insured, covered v. not covered claims, coverage counsel’s roll during settlement efforts, communications with defense counsel and policyholder counsel, and an insurer’s duty to make reasonable settlement decisions. The course will also deal with how to protect communications that occur in pre-suit coverage discussions with the insurer.
