If you represent a governmental entity in litigation, you need to understand the immunities that shield or limit the liability of public entities and their employees. This seminar will review the immunities that are frequently raised on behalf of public entities, including the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act, Eleventh Amendment immunity, qualified immunity, quasi-judicial immunity, and quasi-legislative immunity. The program will discuss how to plead immunities defenses, address the scope of discovery when an immunity has been raised, and discuss when and how an immunity ruling can be the subject of an immediate appeal.

Presented by Pat O’Rourke,

Chair,  Civil Rights/Gov’t Tort:

Vice President, University Counsel & Secretary of the Board of Regents
