Construction CLE Schedule:

1:00-2:00pm       
 Geohazards in Colorado, taught by Dr. Jon Wren, PE and Dr. Charles Coccia.  This course presents an overview of the causes and mitigation of four common geohazards in Colorado – expansive soils, collapsible soils, fill settlement, and landslides.

2:00-3:00pm       
Overview of Roofing, taught by Rich Vose, AIA.  This course presents similarities and differences between asphalt and tile shingled roofs as well as common construction errors.

3:00-4:00pm
Wood and Wood Based Material Failures, taught by David Burnett, PE and Paul Bennett, PE.  This course presents basic wood science and case studies of wood failures.

4:00-5:00pm
Ethics and the Expert Witness, 1 Ethics CLE, taught by Brendan Powers, Paul Bennett, PE.  This interactive course discusses the difference between junk science, unethical experts, and differing expert opinions.  Learn how to better interact with your expert. 
 
Product Defect and Personal Injury CLE Schedule:

1:00-2:00pm       
Materials Engineering in Product Failures, taught by Dr. Nicoli Ames, PE and Dr. Shane Kennett, PE, CWI.  This course discusses some of the scientific tools often used in failure analysis, and how computer simulations and laboratory analyses can improve your case.

2:00-3:00pm       
Root Cause Analysis in Product Safety Investigation, taught by Dr. Juan Ramirez, PE, CFEI.  This course discusses product failure analysis, the scientific method, and the difference between science and pseudo-science with hands on examples.

3:00-4:00pm       
Low Speed Vehicle Accident Investigation, taught by Jason Skiera, PE and Dr. Alan Dibb, PE.  This course presents a technical overview of investigating low speed vehicle accidents using a combined biomechanics and reconstruction approach.

4:00-5:00pm       
Slip, Trip and Fall Investigation, taught by Dr. Sarah Sharpe and Dr. Robert Rauschenberger.  This course will discuss how an integrative approach between biomechanics and human factors can be used during fall incident evaluation to determine injury mechanism, fall source, and contributing factors.
