This one-hour seminar will focus upon the risks and benefits of electronic medical records and the practical considerations for lawyers who work with these records on a regular basis. The vast majority of health care providers have transitioned or are transitioning to maintaining records in an electronic format. This presents new challenges to attorneys practicing in all areas of civil litigation that involve a claim of personal injury. The program will be presented by Gregory Tiemeier, a partner in the Denver firm of Tiemeier & Stich who has extensive experience in medical malpractice defense. The program will offer suggestions for interpreting and analyzing these records, methods to ensure the records produced are complete, the unique issues related to metadata, and the utilization of electronic records at trial.
