Staying SAFE:  A Clinician's Guide I

Your safety is as important as the work you do. Whether working in an office or the community, there are inherent dangers.  This course offers practical tips to raise awareness about risk factors, behaviors (your own or client's) and alternatives to decrease risk. Course will emphasize the critical need for incident debriefing.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize that risk factors for violence may include individuals decompensating from mental health issues, substance use disorders or a history of trauma
  • Recognize how self-awareness (provider posture, tone, gestures, etc.) can aid in risk reduction

Presenter:  Ana Guerra, LCSW, LPC, LCADC, CCS
Ms. Guerra, is a seasoned mental health professional with substantial experience in mental health and substance use disorders.
