This class focuses on the role of Human Resources in growing small businesses and 501(c)(3) non-profits. This workshop is designed for business and non-profit leaders and staff who handle multiple managerial duties including HR functions. It is also helpful for those considering or currently working in the HR field.

Participants will learn how to create a framework of operational excellence designing HR procedures that ensure that the right team and policies are in place to meet client and donor needs while also achieving the organization's long term vision. You will learn what processes and best practices are needed to achieve your growth objectives when operating with a tight budget and a lean staff. This framework can be adjusted as organizations mature and expand. Interactive exercises, casework and discussions will turn HR theory into interesting, understandable and actionable guides in the workplace.

Participants will learn:

• The seven essential activities required to achieve your organization’s growth objectives
• How to optimize HR's role to fulfill short term operational needs and long term strategic vision 
• How to establish the ideal map of work process flow for optimal use of scarce resources of time, funds and personnel
• Five elements that ensure a code of excellence during recruiting, interviewing, hiring & dismissal
• Four critical elements of HR management that focus on building the right team that can move the organization toward achieving its long term goals

     PRESENTER: Edith Moricz, MBA, is an Adjunct Business Professor at Bay State College teaching Human Resources, Marketing and Management courses. She is also a professional fundraiser who has raised over $10 Million for St. Jude Children's Hospital, Boston U., and Franciscan Hospital for Children. Edith is Founder & Editor of BeyondSuccess Online.com containing interviews with global leaders sharing their personal/business best practices.  She coaches adults and youth on strengthening their writing skills and is the author of The Young Adult’s Blue-Print for Success.
