Learn the skills to help you ultimately become an indispensable IT resource - no technical or coding background required. During this course, we will uncover the basics of Salesforce.com administration through hands-on-learning. This course is recommended to anyone interested in starting down the path to become a Salesforce Administrator, or for anyone looking to support an upcoming or existing deployment in the form of setting up, configuring, or maintaining an instance of Salesforce. While Salesforce does offer a week-long Admin Essentials course to cover ALL administrative topics, this course will be a high-level introduction to administration.

Who Would Benefit: Anyone comfortable working with new technologies who would like to begin to explore the path to become a Certified Salesforce Administrator, or anyone looking to enhance  his or her existing IT skill set.

In this workshop, you will: 

  • Understand the general Salesforce data model and how to navigate the Salesforce application
  • Learn how to configure general organization settings which are key to maximizing usage
  • Learn the basics of creating & managing users and how to manage general user permissions
  • Learn the basics of Salesforce.com configuration with respect to creating new objects, tabs, fields, and validation rules
  • Learn how to setup and test workflow automation    

Presenter:  Jill Harkness is a certified Salesforce Administrator, Developer, and Sales Consultant currently thriving as an independent contractor where she supports multiple clients with ongoing system optimization, process refinement, and advanced support. Prior to starting her LLC, Jill spent the last four years as a senior project manager at a boutique technology and operations consultancy in Portsmouth, NH. Jill has managed over 30 Salesforce.com implementation and optimization projects and overseen a number of global deployments leveraging both agile and waterfall project management methodologies. In addition, Jill trains executives, end users, and system administrators on best practices.
