Map Making and History at Brooklyn Historical Society

Looking For A Great Way to explore History???,

In this 8-week program students get a behind the scenes look at the historical exhibits and archives of the Brooklyn Historical Society.  Working with an experienced art-educator, students will explore maps and map making from the 18th century to the present and engage in art-making activities.

Social studies content touches on Colonial New York; Brooklyn's communities then and now; and urban development. Art activities will use a range of media. The class meets in a gallery filled with 19th century paintings that are sure to inspire learners and artists. Classes meet on Tuesdays from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.

I would like to also invite you to a wonderful dance program currently forming in the Downtown Brooklyn area. This program is within walking distance of the Brooklyn Historical society (conveniently located at Common Ground Theater).
Tuesdays from 10:00am to 12:00pm tuition is $270. If you are interested please send inquiries to nylahslink@gmail.com .
This 11 week program offers you a choice of 2 combined dance programs
Hip Hop & African or Ballet & Modern.
"Broadway Dance school" Teachers as well as guests will be the program instructors. It will be held at the Common Ground theater on Schermerhorn and Hoyt street.
