Tonia Bridges tries to please her mother by wearing safe, but drab, clothing. She tries to please her father by making a beautiful science project that will make him proud. Tonia uses her imagination, her dolls and playtime with her friend, Theo, for her personal expressions- one of the few times she does what she wants and pleases herself.
