Join Forrer on January 25th at 88Nine Radio Milwaukee's inspiring space for a post-holiday celebration. Enjoy wine, beer and appetizers from a local restaurant while we explore "The Office Renaissance," the cultural movement that is redefining the corporate workplace.

We're excited to welcome Turnstone's General Manager Brian Shapland to Milwaukee to discuss the "rebirth of the office" and how workers are rebelling against the "sea of sameness" that defines many workplaces. This new movement is spurring a more human-centered design approach, focusing on a blend of design, materiality and performance.

Brian will discuss how he has seen this movement  evolve, and how Steelcase, Coalesse and Turnstone are leading the industry to help customers create work destinations that deliver a more human-centered experience while still providing the tools and resources people need to get work done. Brian will share:
  • What's propelling the movement
  • The idea of self expression and freedom driving a basis of design
  • Executive influence on start-up culture and ideals
  • The anti-corporate backlash
  • Product development and enhancements

The discussion will be interactive, with plenty of time for Q&A.

Brian Shapland - GM of Turnstone

Brian Shapland is the General Manager for Turnstone and Ancillary for Steelcase, Inc., the global leader in the office furniture industry.  Appointed to the Turnstone role in 2014, Brian was asked in August 2016 to oversee and coordinate all Ancillary efforts between the Steelcase, Coalesse and Turnstone brands as well. Brian began his career at Steelcase in 2001 in the Chicago sales office, and spent a few years working closely with the Forrer sales team in Milwaukee on a weekly basis before focusing exclusively on Chicago. After a few years leading teams in the Midwest that called on the design community, Brian was named Director of Strategic Projects in the Americas Sales organization, based in Grand Rapids, MI.  Brian has an undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
