 "Putting it into Practice"

A workshop for healthcare & community providers

Taking Action for Optimal Community and Long-Term Stroke Care is a FREE education program designed for healthcare providers as they work with people who have had a stroke and are in community settings, acute care, complex continuing care & LTC. 

During this interactive session you will gain skills to:

  • Recognize & react to the signs & symptoms of a stroke
  • Gain a greater awareness of how stroke can affect an individual & learn practical skills to help support recovery
  • Increase awareness on how to prevent or reduce complications
  • Intervene when communication, mobility, cognition or behaviour are affected

Target Audience:

PSWs, Health Care Aides, Recreation Therapists, Restorative Care, Rehabilitation Assistants, Staff educators & RAI Coordinators

This session is open to care providers in LTC and community settings
within the Central East Stroke Network who work with persons with stroke.  The Central East Stroke Network geography includes NSM LHIN and parts of the Central and Central East LHINs.
