Every survivor has the right to access domestic violence services that center their unique needs. Survivors with disabilities often experience significant and complex barriers to accessing and receiving support, and domestic violence programs and staff often struggle to meet accessibility needs. Service providers have a responsibility to reflect on our own policies and attitudes and address barriers to access. Join ODVN for an informational session on our responsibilities to adhere to the American Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements as domestic violence programs. This training will go beyond the discussion of compliance to explore the many ways advocates and program staff can work to improve program accessibility and meaningful access for survivors living with disabilities. This training will also include a panel discussion in the afternoon featuring the perspectives of people with professional and lived experience.

Cost: Free for ODVN Members (ODVN Member Program or Individual/Organizational Membership); $50 for Non-ODVN Members. ***Note: If paying by check, please include the name of the training on the memo line. 

CEUs: To obtain 5 CEUs, you are required to attend the entire training and complete the evaluation. When you go to register, please include your complete license number if you are a licensed counselor or social worker in Ohio. Evaluations and Certificate Request forms must be completed within 24 hours after the training to receive CEUs.

American Sign Language interpreters can be made available to attendees needing interpreting services. Please include accessibility need(s) during registration.
