Please join us for this virtual, interactive training
While shelter settings provide an important opportunity of safety for residents, living in shelter can be a difficult experience that presents unique challenges for survivors. It is important to routinely evaluate program policies, practices, and everyday procedures to ensure we are providing proper support to every survivor. In this interactive training, presented by the Missouri Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, participants will identify core philosophies of advocacy and explore their connection to daily practices of shelter services. Advocates will have the opportunity to strengthen their understanding of trauma-informed care and learn strategies to navigate common challenges while maintaining a healing environment for all survivors in shelter.
