Begin 2023 with a plan for self-care by spending three hours in community with advocates addressing the impact of serving individuals who are victims of harm and assaults. Surveys and research have proven that secondary trauma exposure and compassion fatigue are possible outcomes for those who work in victim services and shelters. Join ODVN taking time for your wellness and care. Grab a notebook, find a quiet space, and comfortably dress as you anticipate practicing breathing techniques to stimulate the vagus nerve, allowing your nervous system to calm and regulate. The goal is to finish with self-care actions that meet your needs by discovering mindfulness tips, movement, and gratitude practices.
