Addressing Racism's Impact on Survivor Safety
Wednesday, August 24, 2022
9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. (EST)
It is imperative that advocates and providers in domestic violence work address our implicit biases and how racism impacts our work with survivors. However, we must also go beyond the individual self and address how systemic racism affects the lives of survivors and their access to resources, services, and safety.
Join ODVN as we continue our training series on the impacts of racism in the lives of survivors of color. In this panel discussion, the voices of survivors will be centered as we explore how racism limits options for survivors of color seeking safety from domestic violence. In addition, attendees will hear the perspectives of survivors of color who have been negatively impacted by systems meant to protect and provide justice and learn how to support survivors of color navigating these systems in the aftermath of abuse.
Cost: This is a FREE training.
Deadline to Register: August 22, 2022
American Sign Language interpreters will be available.
Upon registering, you should receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. If you have not, please contact the Training Team at training@odvn.org.
