Experiences of trauma cause a child and an adult to disconnect from their whole self as they scan for danger or what might happen next. Studies show that domestic violence impacts mind, body and spirit. This one day training will illuminate for advocates the importance of play, rhythm and movement to support children and adults as they learn to build skills in coping and resiliency. The training will include concepts such as guided imagery, movement, breathing, games grounded in healing, and demonstrate the practice of drumming. Pariticpants will learn highly effective ways to engage children and adults in regulating their emotions such as drumming patterns. The use of play will be intentional to create safe spaces and give back to children and teens the freedom to play. Come and join other advocates in this educational and fun-filled training!
