Trauma-Informed Crisis Intervention:

Verbal De-escalation and Conflict Resolution

 Friday June 8, 2018

This  training is designed specifically for advocates who work directly with adult or youth survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.  In addition to providing a refresher on the impact of trauma on cognitions, emotions, and behavior, this training offers hands-on strategies to de-escalate survivors in crisis and maintain worker safety. After completing the training, participants will be able to identify and use verbal de-escalation techniques to assist survivors and ensure a trauma-informed response to behavioral crisis.  Note: This is an experiential training. Participants should  dress comfortably and prepare to be on their feet and move during portions of the training.
