Fraud Awareness
Approved for 4 Credits | Course #31115
Every Property and Casualty agent must be aware of fraud and the consequences it has on our business and our customers. Two of the most serious types of fraud that impact each agency's book of business is consumer fraud and provider fraud. Fraud cost each customer between $400 and $600 per year in excess premiums. What can we do to be more aware of fraud? What is our part in preventing or reducing it? In this class we will take a close look at fraud. We will define the different types of fraud and its' consequences. We will look at fraud primarily from two different perspectives. First, we will discuss fraud initiated by the customer; what to look for and how to respond to it. Second, is fraud from the service providers; contractors, medical, auto, ect. Throughout the class we will explore multiple "red flags" of fraud. The more aware the agent is, the more the agent can be on guard.
