10th Annual San Francisco Great Books Mini-Retreat 

Because this event has sold out every year, we will have the mini-retreat on Saturday, January 26, but Saturday is SOLD OUT so you may only register for Sunday, January 27.  Again this year, we will be at the Mechanics Institute in San Francisco on Post Street near Market Street just a few blocks from Union Square.

This is the story of Frank and April Wheeler, a bright, beautiful, and talented couple whose suburban life is held together by a dream. Richard Yates shows how Frank and April mortgaged their hopes and ideals, betraying not only each other but themselves. Lionel Shriver, winner of the Orange Prize for Fiction, said, "I can't think of a better novel to pass on [to the next generation] than Revolutionary Road."   

Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave the movie (starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet) four stars out of four, calling the film “so good it is devastating.”  The cast includes Christopher Fitzgerald, Kathy Bates, Zoe Kazan, Michael Shannon, Kathryn Hahn, David Harbour and was directed by Sam Mendes (Director of the just released James Bond sequel "Skyfall").

The cost for this event is $35.00 per person.  If you wish us to send you the book the cost is an additional $8.00 for a total of $43.00 per person.  We will ship the book within 5 days of receiving your order.
