MODERN CHANGE MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES FOR BUDGET AND SCHEDULE SUCCESS AND LOWERED PROJECT RISK

May 10, 2017
Sunriver, OR

$175.00 per attendees
Limited Registeration to 30 Attendees

This brisk-paced six hour seminar has been specifically designed to support Project Managers implement quality projects within budget and on schedule. Whether you are a Consultant Project Manager, Owner Project Manager/Representative or a Constructor Project Manager, you will learn simple, powerful techniques to increase your ability to manage projects and continue to develop your management skills from peers and partners.

You will learn:

  • Why the prevailing approach to change management does not work well in the current project implementation environment
  • Why projects need to evolve and optimize from the beginning of design through final commissioning, thereby necessitating continuous management of change
  • How to set an accurate base of reference for your projects
  • Key work processes to effectively manage change and reduce project risk
  • Key human skills necessary to manage change in the current collaborative work environment

The three-person teaching and facilitating team brings experience from owners, design teams and construction firms, leading to a rich, multi-perspective view toward project change and risk management. The presenter/facilitators for the seminar are:

  • Karen Beattie, AECOM Vice President NW Business Unit Leader - Environment
  • Robin McCaffrey, Program Manager, Port of Portland
  • David Y. Etchart, Program Manager, Heery International

Attendees will work in teams to develop their own solutions to these case study examples using principles taught in the course and their own experience. Attendees will then compare their solutions to the actual outcomes that occurred to show how the principles work and to show that there can be multiple successful solutions when using effective management techniques.

Course coverage has largely been shaped from polling of the PEO membership and local design firms and owners who implement capital projects on a recurring basis. Attendees should expect to engage in an effective, busy, hands-on learning experience, and to have fun while increasing their professional capabilities.
