Working with the Experts - Cerebral/Cortical Visual Impairment: From Diagnosis to Intervention
Come join FIMC-VI staff for the second Working with the Experts of the 2018-2019 school year. This 2-day workshop will be packed with information from three presenters: Dr. Amanda Lueck, Dr. Deborah Chen, and Dr. Barry Kran.
This workshop will focus on medical evaluation and diagnosis, collaboration between medical and educational professionals, potential manifestations of CVI in young children, and strategies to promote children’s learning and development within daily routines with families. Topics will be presented through analyses of case examples and visual evaluation reports, discussion of evidence-based practices for identifying and implementing interventions for young children (particularly, infants and toddlers) with CVI and their families, observations of video clips, and small group learning activities.
All attendees will receive a copy of Vision and the Brain: Understanding Cerebral Visual Impairment in Children, written by Amanda Lueck and Gordon N. Dutton
