Dinner Presentation: "Understanding the topology and security risks in applying BACnet/SC (Secure Connect) in the marketplace. How smart equipment and analytics are evolving and the new visualization options for interfacing with intelligent machines."

Presented by                                                                                                                                           Anthony Bermudez, Sigler Commercial

Presentation SummaryBACnet Secure Connect (BACnet/SC) is an addendum to the BACnet protocol recently released by the ASHRAE BACnet Committee. It is a secure, encrypted datalink layer that is specifically designed to meet the requirements, policies, and constraints of minimally managed to professionally managed IP infrastructures. The need for using standardized and often already present IP network infrastructures for BACnet communication is increasing, and this security is a critical piece in the networking of building technologies (Building Internet of Things – BIoT).

Presenter BioWith over 30 years working in the HVAC industry Anthony has been responsible for controls sales, Engineering, and training of the Sigler Commercial Sales Offices. He has extensive history working with owners, engineers, contractors and offers a unique perspective providing real world intelligent system solutions. Anthony was a panelist for the SoCal chapter virtual spring conference in April, 2021 “Covid 19 – A Year in Review” and is an engaging presenter.
