This one day Cow Working Clinic offers you and your horse an opportunity to learn that not only is 'cowboyin' way harder than you'd think, but that cows are smarter than they look!! Has your horse not been 'on' cows? No worries- Ed personally supervises all initial introductions. Once your horse is comfortable, the 'cowboyin' activities you'll learn & practice include "tracking" and "rating" a cow, as well as "cutting" a cow from the herd. Additionally, we have a mechanical "cow" to help your horse learn essential maneuvers. Your horsemanship skills will definitely be applied and tested, but you are guaranteed to have the time of your life!
The clinic fee is $200 and includes a hearty breakfast (8:00 a.m.) and lunch, along with snacks and drinks throughout the day. Auditing is also available for $30 (includes meals).
If you'd like to arrive the night before, a limited number of bunk house accommodations are available for rent if desired ($35/day), as well as stall space* for your horse ($15/day). We also offer electical hook-ups for campers ($10/day). Please contact us for more information or to make reservations.
Remember to bring items that you need to care for your horse such as: water bucket, feed bucket, hay, grain, hay bag, muck bucket , manure fork, grooming tools, etc.
*Should you rent a stall, please remember that you are responsible for mucking out your stall once you are done with it.
Cancellation policy: Please note the full cancellation policies as listed on the registration page. Cancellations will be accepted if received by 4 weeks in advance, however, only $150 is transferable to a future Clinic of your choice (pending availability) due to the cost of cow rental.
