Communities that have experienced years of disinvestment face a steep pathway to revitalization. These first steps improve investor confidence and "seed" more permanent, longer-term revitalization - which will attract new residents, businesses, and investors.

We will explore this five-stage incremental approach:
  1. What is walkability and why is it important?
  2. Which town centers in CT possess walkable characteristics?
  3. Low-cost, incremental approaches to attain walkability.
  4. What can the public sector do to foster walkability?
  5. What can the private sector do to support walkability?
