Avoiding Common Liability Claims
Want to avoid court and legal fees? Attend this workshop to learn how to avoid the common mistakes home owner associations make that exposes them to liability claims.

Orange County Sustainability
Come join Orange County Sustainability experts and learn about ways you can green up your community! In this workshop you will learn about Orange County Sustainability Initiatives, Florida Friendly Landscaping, how to form a Community Garden and how to receive grant funding for community driven projects.

Property Information: A Great Tool for Neighborhood Leaders
Join Rick Singh, Orange County Property Appraiser, in this workshop that highlights issues affecting homeowners and property taxes, as well as an explanation why property values have declined while property taxes increase.  Learn how the PA's website can be very useful to neighborhood leaders and how it benefits your neighborhood organization to inform residents about property exemptions they may be eligible to receive.

Looking for constructive solutions that can bring life back to your aging community?  Please come and join us as we discuss innovative options that can be implemented to mobilize your community.  Discussions will be led on cutting edge methods that have been successful in other communities

Do you know what services are provided at your local Orange County Community Center?  From senior programs to youth programs from financial assistance to home repair rebates, join the Orange County Community Action Division and find out just about the many services available that can provide assistance to you and your neighbors!  Who knew???

10:15 to 11:15am Session B Workshops

Leadership Burnout
Are you a neighborhood leader that is feeling burnout? Do you often feel like you are doing everything and wish you could get more participation from community members? This workshop will teach you how to recruit community volunteers and how to delegate responsibilities to board members. Participants will also learn how to manage stress and when not to overextend yourself.

Code Enforcement 101
Come learn all that you need to know about Code Enforcement.  Learn the ins and outs of code violations and be educated by the best there is, Mr. Robert Spivey, Manager of Orange County Code Enforcement.  You will have an opportunity to ask questions and be informed about the latest information in Code Enforcement. 

Understanding Right of Way (ROW) Use Agreements
Many citizens desire to beautify the areas, rights of ways, adjacent and near their neighborhoods. The first step to making the improvements is completing a right of way use agreement between Orange County Government and your neighborhood. This workshop will explain the steps to complete a right of way use agreement, and put your neighborhood on the right path to implementing a beautification project.

Neighborhood Grant Opportunities
Can your neighborhood’s entranceway use a facelift?  Orange County Neighborhood Pride Grants provide direct funding to support and assist citizens and organizations in improving the physical and social quality of neighborhoods.  Funding is available in the form of grants to help organizations revitalize and preserve their neighborhoods.
