The genesis for this presentation is a recently published Alger and Greenwich Associates report titled “The Innovation Advantage? – Harnessing the Power of the New Factor”.

This new report examines the link between innovative companies and outperformance. Highlights include:

• The most innovative firms have outpaced the market in terms of revenue, profits and share price appreciation over the past 45 years.
• Despite this proven relationship, few equity investors allocate directly to innovation.
• We introduce an “Innovation Intensity” as a concept to measure and benchmark a portfolio’s exposure to innovation, as well as a high level summary of increasing a portfolio’s exposure to Innovation.

Bradford Neuman is Senior Vice President and Director of Market Strategy. He joined Alger in 2015 and has 22 years of experience. Before joining Alger, Brad was a Partner at Omega Advisors, where he managed investments in the consumer sector. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at Glenview Capital where he had similar responsibilities. Earlier in his career, Brad was an Equity Research Associate Analyst at Credit Suisse focusing on equity market strategy, and prior to that he was responsible for covering the wireless telecommunications industry for the firm. He started his career as an Equity Research Associate at Schroder & Co.

Brad earned his B.B.A. with High Distinction from Emory University in 1999. He is also a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute. Brad has appeared frequently on CNBC and has been quoted in Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, The Washington Post, Institutional Investor, Pensions & Investments, and MarketWatch.
