In this webinar, geriatrician Dr. Leslie Kernisan will discuss practical approaches that you can take, to help an older person reduce the chance of a serious fall.

Speaker: Leslie Kernisan, MD MPH

Leslie Kernisan, MD MPH, is a practicing geriatrician and the founder of GeriatricsforCaregivers.net, a website providing geriatrics health education to family caregivers.

Dr. Kernisan began writing about health and aging for family caregivers in 2008, while researching better primary care for older adults. She was a Senior Medical Editor for Caring.com from 2009-2013, and then launched her own geriatrics health education blog in 2013. Through her health education work, Dr. Kernisan helps families navigate common pitfalls in healthcare for aging adults, and she offers practical tips to improve the health and wellbeing of older loved ones.

Dr. Kernisan completed her Internal Medicine residency and geriatrics fellowship at UCSF, and is a Clinical Instructor in the UCSF Division of Geriatrics. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from UC Berkeley. Her scholarly work has been published in JAMA and in the Journal of Medical Internet Research.
