The Burke County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a Student Law Enforcement Academy with a vision of building strong positive connections with rising Burke County high school students and law enforcement.

Interactive topics will include:

• Drug and gang education
• Juvenile laws
• Search and seizure
• Interacting with law enforcement during simulated traffic stops
• Pursuing law enforcement as a career.

 The number of participants is limited so interested students are encouraged to sign up quickly. Sheriff Steve Whisenant looks forward to meeting and interacting with the attendees.
