Diagnosis and Management of Common Oral Lesions Webinar

The primary goal of this course is to help you learn the process of clinical differential diagnosis of diseases and lesions of the oral mucosa. The first step in successful therapeutic management of a patient with an oral mucosal disease or lesion depends upon creating a differential diagnosis. The patient examination and consultation process will be briefly reviewed in the context of developing a structured diagnostic method to facilitate the formulation of a differential then final diagnosis with an appropriate treatment plan.

Course Objectives:

  1. Review a sampling of commonly encountered oral mucosal lesions and discuss how they are diagnosed and managed.
  2. Discuss commonly encountered radiographic findings and review how they are best managed.
  3. Entities included in the discussion include oral candidiasis, aphthous and herpetic ulcerations, oral lichen planus, benign fibro-osseous lesions, idiopathic osteosclerosis, the '3P's' and clinical mimics, among others.
