General Membership Meeting 
The Third Molar

This discussion will review the rationale for the removal of third molars. Correlative issues of timing, adjunctive administration of antibiotics, and/or steroids, complications and consequences of both removal and inappropriate observation will be reviewed. Evolving changes in postoperative plan management protocols will also be discussed.

Dr. Lewis Clayman received his Bachelor of Science degree at Brooklyn College and went on to receive his DMD from Harvard University. He completed his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) during a residency at Sinai Hospital of Detroit. He then received his MD at Hahnemann Medical College (now Drexel University College of Medicine) and earned a Master of Science degree at Wayne State University. He went on to complete a residency in Anesthesiology at University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Clayman was formerly the Chair of the OMS Department at University of Detroit Mercy and the Program Director of OMS at Sinai Hospital of Detroit, later Detroit Medical Center Sinai-Grace Hospital. He had professorships at University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, University of Michigan School of Dentistry, and Wayne State University School of Medicine. He was the Chief of OMS at Detroit Medical Center Sinai-Grace Hospital and Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak until 2010. Dr. Clayman has had private practices in Pinole and Benicia since 2010.

*In order to avoid wasting members’ money, those who do not show up at the meeting will be charged $45 if they do not cancel by the registration deadline (Wednesday, November 13th, 5:00pm), due to the hotel requiring a firm meal count as of that time. The total cost including tax, tip, and parking is $70+ per meal, paid by CCDS. Thank you for your cooperation.
