Zach Cattell, JD Keynote Address: From Volume to Value - A View From the Skilled Nursing Facility Profession Zach Cattell became President of IHCA/INCAL (Indiana Health Care Association/Indiana Center for Assisted Living) in June 2015. Zach joined the association in September 2010 as General Counsel & Regulatory Affairs and Reimbursement Services.
His previous experience includes private legal practice focusing on health care matters, and leading the government relations efforts for the Indiana State Medical Association, the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians and the Indiana State Department of Health. Zach also served as a policy analyst for Governor Jim Hodges of South Carolina in the Governor’s Washington, D.C. office.
Zach has also been involved in the Indianapolis community through his service on the boards of directors of Connect2Help and Better Healthcare for Indiana, as well as other volunteer activities. He works with the Indiana Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning on behalf of Indiana's Medicaid Providers.
Zach obtained his Juris Doctor at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and his Bachelors of Arts in Political Science at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
Jonathan Hoffman, LNHA. Session Title: Managed Care-Based on the Ohio Experience, A Look at What We Can Expect for Indiana Jonathan Hoffman serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer for Management and Network Services, LLC in Dublin, Ohio. Started in 1996, Jon was one of the founders of MNS from what began in the back of a warehouse distribution center to a company that has grown into over 225million in current sales and serves over 2,700 Medicare certified skilled nursing facilities in 39 states nationwide. Under Jon’s leadership, MNS has been awarded Columbus CEO magazines “Top Work Places” for the past four years.
Jon began his long-term care career with Volunteers of America Health Services Division serving as a business office manager in 1983 and later as a Statewide Business Office Coordinator. He received his nursing home administrator’s license in 1987and was appointed as the Administrator at Leisure Oaks Care Center in Defiance, Ohio. Jon served as Executive Director for Trinity Retirement Community from 1990 to 1996 prior to joining MNS.
Jon is currently a board member and served as past President of the Educational Foundation of the Ohio Health Care Association. A nationally recognized presenter on managed care and an advocate for educational fund raising for the advancement of long-term care, Jon and his wife, Linda Saunders, reside in Delaware, Ohio. They have six grown children.
Linda L. Saunders, LNHA Session Title: Reducing Drama in the Workplace A licensed nursing home administrator for over thirty years, Linda has specialized in opening new campuses and turning around underperforming organizations by developing outstanding teams and spearheading aggressive marketing programs. Linda has served as a consultant to regional and national senior living and post-acute care companies in the areas of marketing, strategic planning, revenue maximization and communications. Linda’s winning blend of hand-on operational skills coupled with tenacious marketing expertise fostered her success as a leader and mentor within the senior living and post-acute profession. She served as President of the Board of Directors of the Health Care Admissions and Marketing Directors Association of America from 2001-2003 as well as other state and regional task forces. Linda has served as guest instructor of the Graduate Management Institute of Ashland University, The Ohio State University, The State of Ohio Core of Knowledge program and the State of Ohio CEAL program. She is a sought after speaker at industry conferences and a regular contributor to leading publications. She is Founder and President of Censusolutions, which specializes in senior housing, aging services and post-acute health care. Linda’s programs are utilized in more than 150 organizations nationwide. Linda is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and resides in Worthington, Ohio.
Adam Andres, MD Session Title: Choosing a Skilled Nursing Facility – What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You A. Adam Andres, MD is the co-owner and co-founder of ARMS (Adult Rehab Medicine Specialists) and is board certified in Internal Medicine. He currently works as a hospitalist at St. Francis Mooresville and as an ARMS physician at Carmel Health and Living Rehab. The ARMS care model was founded in 2012 and Dr. Andres was recognized by the IBJ for its founding.
Brenda Kenyon, MSW, LCSW Session Title: Compassion Fatigue Brenda Kenyon, MSW, LCSW is an end-of-life counselor and grief specialist currently in practice at St.Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, Indiana. She holds a masters degree from Hunter School of Social Work in New York City and is also a Creative Arts Therapist with a degree in Music Therapy. Using an approach that synthesizes creativity, spirituality, and meaning-making to inspire, transform, and support growth in transition has brought her both International and National attention.
Ms. Kenyon began her career as a case manager in New York City in the early days of the AIDS epidemic, providing coordination and care in a Robert Wood Johnson funded demonstration project. She brought this level of expertise to the State Health Department in New Mexico, HIV/AIDS Services, where she was the Program Manager for all services provided to those with HIV/AIDS, including case management. As the epidemic changed, Brenda shifted her focus to Hospice and has served on the Bereavement Section of the National Council of Hospice & Palliative Professionals and has presented numerous workshops for The National Hospice & Palliative Organization; the Social Work Hospice & Palliative Care Network; The National Compassionate Friends; and the International Conference On Grief in Contemporary Society, presenting in London, 2005 and Miami, Florida in 2011. She believes in the healing power of art, music, ritual, poetry & writing to explore and highlight meaning in life and death for both the caregiver and for those they serve.
Vickie Knight, RN, BS CCM Session Title: So Many Expectations, So Little Time Vickie Knight brings extensive experience in the case management field including several key leadership positions in hospital case management, managed care and consulting. She remains active in several professional organizations, including the Central Indiana CMSA chapter as a founding member, the American Case Management Association, and has been a featured speaker at numerous national conferences. Mrs. Knight received her ASN at the University of Indianapolis and her Bachelor of Science in Health Management from the College of St. Francis. Currently, she works in case management at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis working with emergency department patients.
