"The Cycle of Grace"

 

A Five-Day Mini-sabbatical

 with Nancy Groom and Rose Huff

 

When:  January 8 - 12, 2024 from 5:30 PM Monday until Friday after lunch.

Where: The Haven River Inn, Comfort, Texas

Once the busy holidays are behind us, a good way to relax and re-energize is to experience a refreshing retreat at the lovely Haven River Inn in Comfort, Texas!  On January 8-12, 2024, Lamb’s Tale Ministries will sponsor a five-day, five-part video series entitled The Cycle of Grace, led by spiritual directors Rose Huff and Nancy Groom. 

This video series, presented by Renovare teacher Trevor Hudson, a retired pastor from South Africa, explores the rhythms Jesus practiced in his busy but grace-filled life: the rhythms of Acceptance, Sustenance, Significance, and Fruitfulness.  Included in the retreat will be small-group conversations, personal times of reflection, and opportunities for individual spiritual direction. 

Nancy Groom is a Bible teacher, author of From Bondage to Bonding, and spiritual director.  Her formation as a director was with St.  Peter upon the Water in Ingram, Texas, and she also served on the Formation Team for over ten years.  Nancy offers spiritual direction in the area where she lives in Kerrville, Texas. 

Rose Huff lives in the Hill Country with her husband Bob. They enjoy offering their one bedroom B&B to folks needing time away. Rose attended the Renovare Institute for spiritual formation in 2015 and then went on to receive formation as a spiritual director from Christian Formation and Direction Ministries in Henderson, Nevada. She currently offers direction to those in her area along with facilitating classes for The Cycle of Grace.

Many of you know Lamb's Tale Ministries through the respite care program, called Selah, which began in the year 2000.  In it we offer uncluttered time and space  to facilitate a Christian leader's own personal relationship with God.  As one pastor put it, "When I go to the Haven, I get with God and God gets with me." The word "selah" -  a pause with the intent to worship.  Time, space and good conversations, and then more time and space. 

In addition to time alone with God, there are many ways at or near the Haven to facilitate relaxation and enrichment: exploring the banks of the Guadalupe River, taking a long stroll in the meadow, or finding your way to the golf course across the street.  And, of course, there are always the rocking chairs on the porch.

 

So, as to the schedule for this "mini-sabbatical," would you agree that Christian leaders could have fewer meetings, in general?  Below please find the following schedule which assures this will be a restful, yet very rich time.
