This incredible 8-piece group is led by Stefan Redtenbacher, AKA the “Governor of Bass” (BBC Radio 2). The Funkestra’s name pretty accurately describes the high-energy feel of the music as this band, with its powerful vocals, fiery two-horn frontline and slinky guitar, perform funky grooves with an authority and style that is hard to beat. Featuring the wonderful singer Helena-May (Afro Cluster, Kokomo) the music wonderfully showcases the raw energy and funk-driven bass riffs with which the band are now synonymous. A guaranteed great night out.
