SEATTLE CHAPTER NASPP

"VIRTUAL REALITY" HOLIDAY PARTY

This event has been canceled due to low response/registration. We are hoping to reschedule for sometime in 2017, so stayed tuned and Happy Holidays!

Description:

Please join us as we celebrate all of our hard work in 2016! This is a great opportunity to mingle with other members. Stop in and try out the latest in Virtual Reality, enjoy cocktails, appetizers and even a tour/tasting at Fran's Chocolates next door!

NOTE: This event is free of charge for both members and non-members.

Orange LV is a virtual/augmented reality production company; their studios are located in a loft space of the original Rainier Brewery, a landmark building in historic Georgetown. Experience the latest in VR/AR, including the Vive and HoloLens headsets, wall screens and a variety of other games.

Parking:

Free parking is available on Airport Way S. in front of the building (on the east side of the street without restriction or on the west side of the street with a two hour restriction). Low cost paid parking is available in lots behind the building (entrance to the back lots is toward the north end of the building - the lot closest to the studio is just past the sign for Vulcan).

This presentation will bring you a description of the latest notable changes impacting companies granting equity awards to employees outside the U.S., as well as a discussion of some notoriously difficult topics for global stock plan professionals.

In the first half of the presentation, our speaker will cover the key non-U.S. tax, legal and other regulatory developments affecting equity awards over the past year, such as the relaxed exchange control rules in Argentina, the new qualified RSU regime in France, the impact of Brexit on global share plans and many more.  Hear practical perspectives on how companies have responded to these developments and reactions seen and heard from the global community.

During the second part, we will turn our attention to some continuously problematic issues surrounding equity awards, such as:

  • Treatment of awards held by employees on a leave of absence and the merits of a global leave of absence policy
  • Favorable retirement provisions (based on age or age + service)
  • Tying equity awards to non-complete/non-solicitation/confidentiality covenants
  • The rise of Total Rewards Statements and inclusion of equity awards in TSRs
  • Special tax issues for awards held by terminated employees

Even if you think you have seen it all, we hope you can learn some new tricks during this presentation!

EVENT:

 3:30pm - 6:00pm
