Registration: 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Workshop: 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Program Description:

Although family physicians rely primarily on pharmacotherapy to treat depression and anxiety, research and clinical experience suggest that many patients experience only partial relief and still remain vulnerable to relapse if they stop medication.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is the most empirically supported psychological treatment for anxiety and depression and has also been shown to prevent relapse. In this hands-on, skills-oriented interactive workshop, participants will acquire basic CBT tools that they can integrate into their own general clinical practice.

After active engagement in this program, participants will be better able to:

  • Apply the principles of CBT as part of treatment for your patients with depression and anxiety
  • Use the case conceptualization approach to CBT
  • Implement basic cognitive and behavioural interventions for patients with depression and anxiety
  • Integrate and apply CBT techniques to personal stressors.

FEE: $600 plus HST

Please note that on-site registration will not be permitted.
