A Documentary Film
This critically acclaimed new documentary explores the topic of masculinity, how it is defined in American culture and its impact on society.
Through the insights of experts in neuroscience, psychology, sociology, sports, education, media, and, most importantly, young men and boys themselves, The Mask You Live In challenges us to think about the way we raise boys and the messages we sent them.
Following the film, there will be a facilitated panel discussion to share reactions to the film. The panel will be composed of local social workers, counselors and educators who can share their insights and expertise.
Students are welcome to attend.
The 87 minute youth-version of the film will be shown. Due to the sensitive and graphic themes presented, viewer discretion is advised. This documentary contains language that some may find objectionable, as well as some graphic footage related to drinking, drugs, sexuality and abuse.
