Too Much of a Good Thing

Dr. Dan Kindlon


Dr. Dan Kindlon will discuss children's attitudes toward their lives and how they are impacted by society's focus on achievement and success.  He describes how parents can help children develop the emotional maturity to take responsibility for their actions and have meaningful, fulfilling relationships.

Dan is a nationally-renowned educational psychologist specializing in the cognitive and emotional development of children and adolescents. He spent 20 years as a researcher and consulting psychologist to independent schools and was a member of the Harvard University faculty from 1985-2010. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed academic journal articles and four books, including the 1999 NY Times bestseller, Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys. (co-authored with Michael Thompson).
